Winter Shadows

last night I saw you
once more walking hand in hand
mere winter shadows

we crossed barren sand
you holding my hand so tight
praying dawn comes not

light takes you away
my eyes weep still in a dream
your touch lingers still

children hiding
inside Papa's little shed
dinner time

in the black of night
a faint flash of orange red light
a new day rises

Floating Leaf

floating leaf lives on
despite the coming rain fall
soon all floats away

a fallen flower
blew back to it's perch
a butterfly


the birth of a butterfly
brings all seasons to their end

clinging sand covers

ice cold skin wet with ocean
sand washing away our dreams
