Hunters New Moon

summers first new moon
breathtakingly beautiful
hangs alone in sky

hunters of old knew
its hopefulness for the hunt
mornings light brought prey

warriors rode out
with the moons spirit in tack
feeding the children

  3. The aloneness of the moon contrasts with the horde of warriors riding out to battle. It is the paradox of life on earth: beauty vs. beast!
