Haven's Space

I wonder if here
lies the doorway to heaven
where I will find you

waiting for me as ever
our souls one again
is this our heaven

will the lord be there
and angles singing so sweet
I long to be there

in your arms once more
and your kisses wipe my tears
walking together

Quince Tree Branches

I remember well
the old quince tree in our yard
that bore fruit each fall

branches twisting round
the ivy that climbed within
to reach it's pink crown

noble quince ageless
a nesting place for fair birds
that woke us each morn

how I'd love to hear
it's whispers in the dark night
of time long gone by

Life's Energy

life's energy forms
enveloping our spirit
our minds must clear it

In the Dark Of Night

it makes no sense now
not to my mind nor my heart
how life comes and goes.

with but a whisper
a soft sigh deep in the night
what was is no more

hearts should be stronger
love should hold all of it tight
that we may hold on

Bones

oh she said so evenly
so without feeling
those ashes are just bones
it's not him you know
it doesn't really matter
where you might put them.
these bones, these cold bones

all that I have left of him
he that was my life.

Secret Garden

between these fenced gates
my garden grows lush and sweet
here is my retreat

far from man's despair
green foliage leafy and tall
covers my retreat

speckled pattern shade
cools the hot sun of mid day
secret my retreat

riotous flowers
in colors of  rainbows grow
pink blue violet red

here lies in my love
rest he now beneath rich earth
never more to rise

ti's sweet my retreat
for his shadow walks with me
spirit love my dear
